Executive team
An executive team handle day to day management and operations.
Melissa Hope, Chief Executive
Melissa joined NLF in November 2017. She is Chief Executive and Company Secretary. Melissa has over 20 years’ experience in legal and commercial roles. Prior to NLF, Melissa worked for SSE plc. She has wide energy industry experience, in particular working on high value, complex commercial transactions and managing diverse stakeholder interests. She has a degree in Law from Aberdeen University.
Andrew Sands, Finance Executive
Andrew is a qualified Chartered Accountant with c.15 years post qualified experience in financial services covering both finance and commercial roles. He also has a degree in Accountancy and Finance from Heriot Watt University. Andrew joined NLF in May 2021.
Carolyn Murray, Commercial Executive
Carolyn joined NLF in March 2022 and has extensive experience as in-house legal counsel within the financial and energy sectors. She has a degree in Law from Edinburgh University and a mediation qualification.
Maureen Macpherson, Executive Assistant
Maureen is an experienced administrator. She has worked in the education and financial sectors, and most recently worked as a remote-based administrator for a global EAP provider. She has an HND in Secretarial Studies (with German). Maureen joined NLF in June 2019.
Darren Milne, Executive
Darren joined NLF in August 2024, bringing substantial investment knowledge from his previous roles in investment risk at Baillie Gifford and as an equity research analyst at Investec. He holds a degree in Business Management from the University of Edinburgh.
